If you want to explore, go on a hike, and find wondrous views that lead to an amazing waterfall, then you should visit the Linville Falls! The waterfall is located at the Blue Ridge Parkway. After a short four mile hike you’ll get to explore some of the most impressive views in North Carolina. That’s prior to reaching the Linville Falls. The Linville Falls has a 90 feet drop into the Linville Gorge. On the hike over you’ll see a mix of trees in the forest, such as oaks, pines, hickory, and birch tress. Come to milepost 316.4 near Ashville to start your adventure!
Looking Glass Falls
This is the perfect place to unwind and forget about everything! There’s no major hiking to get to the Looking Glass Falls. You can take the steps that lead down to the falls for a close up view and take a refreshing dip, then sit and relax while listening to the the waterfall. Bring your cameras, you can get beautiful captivating images of this waterfall. If you’re doing the Linville Falls, you can come visit the Looking Glass right after! That’s because it’s just 10 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway!
Cove Creek Falls and Sliding Rocks
Are you making this a family trip? Then the Cove Creek and the Sliding Rocks Falls are a great place to visit with the little ones in the summer! It’s a short hike between one and the other but it’s worth it. You can have fun by sitting along the Sliding Rocks and slip down the water and feel the cool rush of the mountain. Make it an afternoon full of fun lifetime memories with the family at one with nature.
If you want something more relaxed and laid back, you must visit the Dry Falls! You can get the breathtaking view from the waterfall, because you can walk right underneath it! You’ll have a moment on bliss standing behind this 80-feet tall majestic waterfall!
