Get answers to some of the most common questions about auto parts
1) Should I buy new or used car parts? Good question – there are pros to both. New parts have that guarantee that they’re going to be high quality because they’re new, and they also give you peace of mind because you know where they came from. You don’t have that same guarantee with used parts, but they often do come with warranties and they’re also less expensive than buying brand new. You just have to decide which is more important to you – price or peace of mind!
2) Should I buy OEM or aftermarket parts? Also a pretty common predicament when buying Charlotte car parts. OEM parts come straight from the manufacturer, while aftermarket parts may be made by another company. It’s kind of like the new vs used question in that OEM parts are more expensive, but offer more of a guarantee, while aftermarket parts may be cheaper and also easier to find, especially if the vehicle has been retired or discontinued.
3) Will a part void my car’s warranty? This depends on where you bought the car, the type of car part, and the manufacturer. It’s safest to check before installing any parts on your vehicle if you’re concerned about affecting the warranty, and you definitely need to ask if the vehicle is a lease, as it may affect your lease terms.
4) Should I shop for Charlotte car parts online? In some cases, you may have to. We recommend going to a parts store like the one at Toyota of N Charlotte in person, especially if you’re not too experienced with ordering auto parts. That way you can see the part if it’s in stock, as well as talk to one of our specialists and get any and all questions answered by someone who knows what they’re talking about. If the part isn’t in stock at the store, they can order it for you and have it delivered to the dealership so you can come in and have it installed!
